Wine Spectator 90 FOR THE 2007 VINTAGE
Coffee and chocolate notes frame black cherry, wild herb and mineral flavors in this plump red. Still fresh, this has light, firm tannins that keep it balanced through the dried fruit and floral finish. Drink now through 2014.
Wine & Spirits Magazine 94 FOR THE 2007 VINTAGE
At an optimal moment of its evolution, this still holds some fresh red fruit, beginning to combine with scents of coffee, and dried fruits that are slowly appearing in the flavors. The structure is still intact, like an elder marathon runner who continues to compete, still muscular in the mode of its more youthful moments. The blend for this wine includes garnacha (50 percent), merlot (30 percent), cariñena and syrah.
Wine Enthusiast 90 FOR THE 2007 VINTAGE
This is ultraripe and a bit raisiny on the nose, but there are encouraging flashes of schisty minerality and freshness. It feels jammy, full bodied and thick, with a baked black-fruit flavor and notes of licorice and tobacco. Smooth and earthy on the finish, with power to spare. Drink now–2014.
