Winery: Alain Graillot
Grapes: 100$ Syrah
Vintage: 2014
Label   Fact Sheet

Description: This is a relatively new label and the wines are made by Maxime Graillot (of Alain Graillot). The wines emphasize fruit and texture, and are ideal for drinking in their youth. It’s medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and balanced with a forward, delicious personality that just screams, “Drink me know!” Completely destemmed and aged 12 months used barrels, it’s worth checking out and will drink nicely for 5-7 years.

Publication Score Comments
Wine Spectator 92 FOR THE 2014 VINTAGE
A ripe, gutsy style, with a solid core of plum sauce, warm cherry and raspberry preserves framed liberally with singed vanilla and dried anise notes. Alluring flashes of black tea and iron show through the finish. Best from 2018 through 2024. 20 cases imported.
The Wine Advocate 94 FOR THE 2015 VINTAGE
Tasted from tank prior to bottling, the 2015 Cornas is dense like fruitcake, loaded with Christmas spice, candied fruit and almond paste. It's full-bodied yet on the supple side for Cornas and should be approachable soon after release. The fruit comes from Chaillot (25%), Sabarotte (25%) and Les Côtes (50%).
