Label   Fact Sheet

Description: Everything about this wine is extraordinary - even the colour, which is a deep, old gold bordering on Tawny. On the nose, it is difficult to know where to start: toffee, butterscotch, rum and raisins, toffee apples, tarte tatin, orange peel, and lots of spices. The palate is super-sweet, and one might mistake it for liquid honey, but for the appetising acidity that keeps it so crisp and refreshing. The ripe fruit finally gives way to a spicy finish, and the length just goes on and on. One of the great sweet wines of the world.

Wine Spectator 92 FOR THE 2005 VINTAGE
This is like a fresh lemon, with puckering acidity and roasted almond, orange peel, butterscotch and lemon candy flavors. The high level of sweetness is matched by bracing acidity. Lingers on the palate for what seems like minutes. Drink now through 2020. 800 cases made. –BS
Jancis Robinson 100 FOR THE 2005 VINTAGE
Mid gold. Even more complex on the nose than the 5 Puttonyos 2007. Less immediately fruity. Spice, dried grasses, honey and quince. Very deep aroma. A wine to give you goosebumps. With air, the primary fruit emerges: apricot, pineapple, baked apple, tarte Tatin. A basket of fruit and so much more. Super-viscous. Amazingly there is even a mineral quality to this. Unspittable. Liquidised orange peel and apricot on the finish. Endless. How could this be any better? Hence the very rare perfect score. 20/20
