Description: Clos Figueres has a denser rich ruby colour with wonderful scents of ripe blackberries and blueberries intermingled with the rich mineral flavours of a great Priorat. On the palate Clos Figueres is approachable with pure intense flavors and a lush smooth texture. Loaded with fresh red and black fruit, intermixed with minerals and spices, the finish is long and smooth. A delight for drinking over the next 12 to 15 years.

The Wine Advocate 90 FOR THE 2008 VINTAGE
The 2008 Clos Figueres is raised for 13 months in a combination of new and second-fill Allier barriques and casks. It has more definition and restraint on the nose than the 2007 that was tasted alongside and is, frankly, a little over-ripe and alcoholic. A propos the 2008, the terroir shows through with much more clarity and imparts more freshness. The palate is full-bodied and structured with layers of toasty, dark berry fruit with fine underlying mineralite. The wonderfully restrained finish could teach the 2007 some class! Drink 2014-2025.

Supple and fresh, this red offers cherry, wild berry, herb, mineral and smoky flavors, with light, firm tannins and lively acidity. Energetic and graceful. Drink now through 2018. 300 cases made. –TM

Black cherry, mountain herb and spice flavors mingle with notes of mineral and loamy earth in this graceful, energetic red. Balanced, with well-integrated tannins and balsamic acidity. Finishes fresh and floral. Drink now through 2022. 340 cases made.
The Wine Advocate 93 FOR THE 2013 VINTAGE
The 2013 Clos Figueres could very well be the freshest and more elegant vintage of this wine to date. It's mostly Garnacha and old-vine Cariñena with just a touch of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon fermented in new 500-liter French oak barrels where it matured for some 14-16 months. It combines the Mediterranean aromatic herbs (rosemary, thyme, lavender) with some rusticity that transported me to the landscape of Priorat and enough freshness to nicely balance the concentration and the tannins. It's a fresh Priorat with character and elegance. Well done! 2,777 bottles were filled in February 2015
The Wine Advocate 93 FOR THE 2014 VINTAGE
I had two vintages of the top red to taste, and the oldest of the two is the 2014 Clos Figueres, an old-vine blend of Garnacha and Cariñena plus a touch of Syrah and Cabernet. It fermented in new open-top 500-liter French oak barrels and matured in new French barriques for 14 to 16 months. The wine comes from a cooler year with moderate alcohol and more freshness, and it feels very classical, serious and balanced, with integrated oak in the shape of spices, Mediterranean herbs and ripe berries without excess. The palate feels very harmonious, with focused flavors and that dustiness that often reminds me of the slate of the Priorat soils. 4,116 bottles were filled in February 2016.
